    Walter & Group....

Chuck Easterling and Bill Gammel are hosting their 2011 Instructor's School for CCI's and MCI's in June.  It will take place at Fulton's Lodge on the White River in Arkansas.

This is a wonderful opportunity for instructors to receive high level continued education by a World class faculty.

      This from Chuck :-

    Hi Gordy,

Below you will find a copy of an invitation to Bill and my 2011 school.  I would greatly appreciate you making this known to your discussion group.  Several people have asked that I notify them about the next school, however, I am never sure if I notify ever one who has an interest.

As you know, I think very highly of Lasse and being around him has made me a better instructor.

    Fellow Instructor,

Bill and I want to invite you to the 2011 Instructors' School which again will be held at Fulton's Lodge on June 10-12, 2011. Those of you who have attended one our schools in the past know we try and keep attendance limited to 20 participants and attendance is limited to CI's and MCI's.

Our guest instructor for 2011 is Lasse Karlsson of Denmark. I consider Lasse a friend and let me simply say he is not only an amazing caster but has tremendous insights into casting.  If you follow Sexyloops or keep a sharp eye on Youtube casting videos you know of Lasse.  Lasse serves on the BOG and has administered CI and MCI exams in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and a heck of a lot of countries in Europe.  You can not be around Lasse without learning a great deal.

The schedule.  As in the past, the school will officially begin on Friday at 4:00 PM with informal socializing with soft drinks and beer provided.  We our going to follow what we did at the last school with everyone bringing their own food for the Friday and Saturday evening cookouts.  Grills, charcoal, paper plates, cups, baked beans, cole slaw, chips etc.  will be supplied by the school.  We want the Friday and Saturday evening meals to be something akin to "potluck" with the sharing of a favorite dish.  We will gear toward ending our Friday night meal at around 7:00.

After our Friday evening meal Lasse will be going over a number of interesting videos.  Lasse has competed in a number of European casting events and has a number of interesting videos.  These videos will also touch on such topics how the haul may effect loop formation and the effects of damping of the rod.

The school will provide a continental breakfast on Saturday and we will resume at 8:00 AM with Lasse introducing us to various casting styles, especially some that are somewhat unique to Europe, such as TLT.  Plan on extensive spey casting with a single handed rod.   We will break for lunch at 12:00 which will be provided by the school.

We will resume the afternoon sessions at 1:00 with additional Spey casting with a single handed rod and conclude with a distance casting session with Lasse and Bill providing their insights and coaching.

We will conclude at approximately 5:00 for our evening meal.  By the way, Lasse has recently competed in a two handed event and I suspicion that there may be a fair amount of two handed casting and coaching going on Saturday night while we still have light.  As you might imagine, a tremendous amount of interesting information and learning is shared in the evenings at the informal discussions that inevitably take place.

Sunday breakfast will be provided by the school and from 8:00 until 12:00 there will be "special instruction" which will be driven by what you would like to have covered.  This may include analyzing videoing of your casting or a more in depth coverage of a particular casting style and teaching tips.

What you need to bring.  We will probably spend a fair amount of time  "on the water" so bring appropriate wading gear, your favorite single handed rod (if you have an interest in two handed casting it would be a good idea to bring your favorite two handed rod as well) eye protection, sun screen  and food for your Friday and Saturday evening meal.

Fulton's Lodge.  If you have spent time at Dale Fulton's Lodge you know what to expect.  If you have not, this is a small Lodge on the White River close to Wildcat Shoals.  If the water is low it should be well suited for our purposes, it the water is high then we will have to improvise.  As you may know the water level on the White River is dependent on the generation and that is governed by the demands for electricity.  If the water level is high we will have an ample area of grass which is not as good water but is a viable alternative.

The Lodge has two 2 bedroom units, four 1 bedroom units and one sleeping room.  The two bedroom units can hold 6 and the one bedroom can hold 3.  The bedroom units have kitchens while the sleeping room does not.

I have spent considerable time at Dale's Lodge and it is neat, clean and in a very relaxing setting.  If you place a high value on luxury or think a private room is a must then this school is probably not for you.

The Cost.   Bill and I want this to be a quality learning experience and we are committed to bringing you some of the best instructors we know.
The fee for the 2011 school is $350.00 and includes two nights stay at the lodge, continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday and complimentary soft drinks and beer on arrival.  To reserve your space, please contact me and I will hold a space for you for ten days to allow you time to send a $200.00 deposit.  The balance of the fee must be received by May 1, 2011.  Deposits will be refunded upon notification received prior to April 30, 2011.  After April 30 it will not be possible to refund a deposit unless your slot in the school can be filled from the waiting list.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
