Hi Gordy,
Roll casts performed
with the single hand rod can benefit from a torque/twist applied late in
the forward stroke. This move can provide additional rod loading
and optimum trajectory. I'm guessing
the torque/twist has a dampening effect that reduces rod tip
counter flex and rebound.
Does Paul Arden apply a bit of torque during his overhead
casting? As you mentioned, improper twist/torque of the rod is not a
good thing.
