Howdy Gang,

  This has run a might long.

    So if you are thinking of making a long cast or a cast in windy conditions USE the Heaviest outfit you can find or YOU can use. Those that are coast fishers using a 9 wt most of the time you will cast that fly better than a person that is a 3 or 5 wt user on the 9 wt.. Just because you can handle the heft of the 9 and the trout fisher is more at ease with the light outfit. The big heavy line will travel with less gravity effect. But this takes us back to the KE=1/2 MV2 Were the mass is the winner....

 

 Take your two outfits out and TRY it. One of Lefty's statements is TRY IT YOURSELF.
