Yes.....different examiners will have varied methods of testing for the roll cast.
What you did was to make a live-line roll cast with no defined stop between the roll, "back cast" and the forward cast. A darn good fishing technique to be used when you do have a lot of line out in front.
Some examiners would not do that and would require a definite stop.
Yours is an example of the fact that MCI candidates should be prepared to make just about ANY required cast in ANY manner requested. The candidate must remain, "cool" and be confident enough to do it all !!!
It's obvious that you were prepared to whip lions.....else you wouldn't have passed.

Gordy,
During my Masters exam my roll cast requirement of 50' to a target was
a bit different than the way I was practicing. My testers did not
want me to have much line behind me, in fact I was to have about 45'
of line on the water in front. This made it quite difficult to break
the tension and straighten out all the way to the leader. What I did
that worked was when drawing the line back to me on the water my rod
tip lifted the line off the water, I then began my roll cast before
the line made contact with the water again. During practice I used
the rule of 12' on the water and the rest in my D behind me.
During the distance shoot, I was able to send the majority of line
behind me.
