  • Greg on Style

    From Capt. Greg Rahe :-

    Gordy,

Like Dusty, I also like using the golfing examples when discussing style with my clients. The styles of Tiger, Jack, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trivino are worlds apart from their grip to their swing plane to their tempo. Some of them can’t perform shots that the others can and vice-versa. I’m reminded of Tom’s and your advice: we don’t change a student’s style unless they can’t perform a required task. Good casters, like good golfers, will change their natural style at times to get the job at hand done.

The real AHHA comes when you take 20 pictures of each of the above golfer’s swings from start to finish and compare them. They look worlds apart until the moment of truth – impact! Strong moves, with no wasted energy and squared shoulders and club faces.

I’ve never seen this done with casters, but I bet we find the same thing.
