[GH] Tropical storm Isaac is expected to be a hurricane by the time it crosses the Florida Keys tomorrow.

I'll be super busy completing my storm preparations today and coping with aftermath a couple of days after the storm passes.  We expect to lose power and may lose water supply here on Big Pine Key, but I do have a propane generator and a rain water cistern.

Back to our messages after things are back in order.

    From Bob Garber:

    Gordy,

I recently purchased Joan Wulff's new book and just discovered a flaw and was wondering if anyone else has noticed or mentioned it.

My copy is missing pages 47-62 while pages 63-78 are duplicated.  I only noticed it while researching False Casting and couldn't find it.   I thought that it was worth mentioning.

I hope the coming wind will be kind to all in the area!

    Regards,
    Bob

    [GH] Bob,

I checked and found my copy to be perfect re. pagination.  Joan had handed it to me personally just before the full printing came on the market.

I have not heard of any others reporting page irregularities, though I know that this sometimes happens in the printing industry.

Best to return your flawed copy and have a replacement sent.

I let Joan know about this.

Thanks for your good wishes as we brace for the storm.

    >From Greg Rahe:

    Hola Gordy,
did I miss an attachment? All I have is Guy Manning's link showing a distance caster without video.
    Cheers, Greg

    [GH] Greg,

There was no attachment to that message.

I scratched my head over that one, too.  Then I figured out that Guy was only trying to show the oscillations of the rod tip at the end of the caster's backcast.  This sort of rod tip oscillation can result in small defects in the fly leg on either back cast or forward cast. *

     From Gary Davison:

    Gordy,

I like Guy's way of looking at this.  Have you batten down the hatches there for the storm.  Looks like you in for some winds and rain!

Wish you well, and keep safe!

    [GH]  Gary,

Just finished my last set of storm shutters with a lull in the wind.

I think we're ready for the storm, now.

    Thanks for your good thoughts!
