FYI. A measure of the power of your study group,I emailed Bob Rumph 5 min after your "Presentation" post. I got the second copy, somebody else responded even sooner.

[GH] Michael,
You are the early bird which got the worm. In this case a valuable one, indeed. I know you will treasure it and use it for great background material.

Hi GH!
I thought I'd check my e-mail before I start Saturday chores and read this and had to respond. First of all, thanks for the distraction---it beats painting any day!
Second, thank you for the confirmation that there are likely more similarities between our experts' methods than there are differences. I have been thinking this for years as I have read the "literature." At first the differences were a distraction for me as a caster and an instructor.
As a neophyte, and especially before my CCI study, substance and style would get confused. Now I see them as an enrichment and a choice that reminds me of the adage "several ways to skin the cat." As an instructor, I find using different styles with students can be helpful in that one style may fit a student or situation better than another. I suspect we have all observed this, but my understanding of this was a big breakthrough for me several years ago, both for casting and instructing, so thanks again for the confirmation. I would also add that just like you have learned from lots of people in the Study Group, I learn every time I instruct.
Now for the first coat of paint!
Tight Loops,
Jonathan Walter

[GH] Jonathan,
We also learn from our students. I've learned a great deal as well when I've conducted exams. Perhaps I've learned even more from my own mistakes !
