My server has been out for the past 2 days ... Now back in service.
From Jerry Puckett:-
Gordy,
Have you tried "Line Speed" by Loon. This deep cleans a fly line as well as
anything I have tried. I soaked a line in mild detergent and warm water for 30
minutes and ran the line through a white cloth until clean and no black residue
marks could be observed followed by a warm water rinse and allowed to dry.
I followed the directions and applied "Line Speed" to this cleaned line
and let it dry the recommended 24 hours and repeated the white cloth
treatment. I was amazed to find an equal amount of black dirt on the
white cloth after the 24 hour drying period.
I now use this product for 24 hour deep cleaning the line and it is
sufficient within itself for improving line performance. However, one is
always going for an edge and the "Line and Lure" for grass practice appears to
reduce guide and air friction significantly. I haven't tried it for
fishing until I have a better understanding regarding environmental
impact.
If you have trouble locating either of these products and I will round them
up for you to test.
Thanks Jerry

Comment: I'll try this. I've also had good results using a
material called, GLIDE. Works best by applying, then waiting
overnight. Buff it in the next morning. Lasts a long time.
