These thoughts from Tom White on TRAJECTORY. He brings up some good practical points, here. His 4th sentence is important to note for distance casting. (Refer to Joan Wulff's, FLY CASTING TECHNIQUES, p. 121, entitled, "LONG CAST TRAJECTORY".).......Her, " Seesaw".

Gordie;
Here are some thoughts on trajectory.
Waiting too long to start the cast will allow the trajectory to fall causing cross loops, if you want to maintain the same front back trajectory.
Or they don’t have enough line speed on their cast to “hold” the trajectory.
You can reposition the trajectory of a cast by waiting longer – ie; High back cast, wait and reposition for a horizontal trajectory.
You can also cast with the rod in a HORIZONTAL position and have the loop vertical, horizontal or any angle – AND have any trajectory you choose.
Just some fodder for the group.
