    Good Morning Gordy
    Great response by Jim. I'm glad you added the roll cast, we can use a roll cast for a number of situations (as you mentioned dealing with heavy poppers, also tilting the cast (side arm) to get under obstacles, such as trees, or changing the trajectory to go over obstacles, such as stumps etc.) Un-rolling the line on the water or over the water. The roll cast is a cast that get little respect, but once mastered can be used for many situations.

    Right about the roll cast.  The trajectory for that can and should be changed to suit the circumstances of fishing.
