Jerry responding to Jim's question on casting with a slow rod. Explanation to the student:-

 

A slower casting tempo with increased stroke length and increased linear casting arc along with very smooth power application to allow for the deeper and slower bend in the rod.

OK....except for the use of the word, "linear".  I'd suggest not using that term when describing CASTING ARC.

 

(Although I do know what you mean.)
