This note from Jeff Barefoot (MCI..Pa.) should be heeded by all of
us. He's referring to Mac Brown's message re new thoughts on leaders
which go beyond the ordinary. I might point out that I've spent time with Jeff
who has also come up with some neat casting concepts such as loop planes
which differ from rod planes, etc....material you won't find in any book, but
which help define the true MASTER.
You'll find this quality of thought process in Mac's book, CASTING
ANGLES.....especially in his chapter on, ENLIGHTENMENT CASTING. :-

Mac's message is not so much about putting fishing
string together but more about thinking outside the box. It's more about
not just accepting collective thought as an end but as more of a
start. What we do know now about any subject is probably less in
comparison to what is not commonly known, discussed, or accepted. To
grow and expand we must keep looking out not in. If you feel like you
have reached some conclusion be aware that the answer probably goes
deeper.
What can be done with a fly rod is bound by a few
simple rules of physics. How we apply these simple rules is only at the
limit of our imagination.
Keep pushing the limits.
