ol Al.....
I replied to Damon that this would be a good, "LONG ANSWER". His
short answer could well be the simple term: "WIDE LOOP"
or Peter Minnick's answer, "WIDE OR OPEN". Then the long answer if the
examiners wanted more detail.

Hi Gordy, The stiffer rod requires a shorter stroke
length "loading move" and a shorter pause time after the power snap
. I would say that the fast action rod with the same cast as the softer
rod would then open the loop and probably not completely unroll the line "have
a tendency to pile". Reason: To long of a casting stroke "loading
move" would open the loop by making the tip travel in a convex path. To
long of a pause time would put slack in the line not create enough line speed
to turn over the line efficiantly. Damon ----------
