    Yes.....this would work.  Of course the water haul is tricky if you hesitate or try to do it with too much line out there, because of the weight of that Clouser.
     
    That HS/HL back cast would work fine, too....especially with that wind from in front of us.  The drift with the back stroke is also good, since that provides a good set up for the forward stroke, allowing a longer stroke altogether.

           To make that cast I would do the following:

           -short roll cast to get the line on top of the water.
           -use the water surface tension to load the rod.
           -slip line on the pickup
           - make a powerful HS/HL  backcast and haul.
           -drift with the backstroke to get the longest forward stroke
           - forward thrust cast and haul it and point the rod



           Perhaps go to a 10 weight outfit (rod and line)
           I hope the fish are cooperative even if the weather is not.
