Gary...
To my last answer, I must add: My preferred way of placing a fly beneath mangrove overhang, is to make a tight loop cast witht he rod in the almost horizontal plane.......not with that rather risky contrived tail.

Subject: Practical question... deliberate creep

Gordy,
I'm really enjoying these technical/philosophical discussions!
However, a while back you mentioned using deliberate creep to cause and control
a tailing loop to present a fly under mangrove branches.
Could you please explain this cast in greater detail? You also referenced Jason
Borger's book... I'm heading to the IGFA this afternoon to look into it. Any
other references I can check?
I like to stretch my mind with these discussions, but when it comes to practical
applications (especially in the mangroves) you really get my attention!
