I wasn't trying to confuse anyone with the definition of Rod Plane, but my understanding of Rod Plane take a visual approach.
I was sitting in front of my computer looking at a compass and thought, If I held the rod vertical I would be at 0 degrees. As I moved the rod during casting to the right I would get closer to 90 degrees casting to a horizontal plane out to the right.
And vice versa, If I moved the rod during casting to the left, I would get closer to 270 degrees casting to a horiziontal plane out to the left.
I just simply used the face of a compass to help me understand Rod Plane, I think Jason Borger's definition of Rod Plane is similiar.
Al, ask Gordy if he agrees...

Howdy DaveIf you were looking at a compass or protractor you would find the 0 at the top the 90° on the right and the 270°on the left so the you can see the relation that Ron was using.from right side to left side.I wish I could fix jerry's address I just happens to kick out and still he get a Email he says.
