    Randy....

Actually rapid response and slow response neuromuscular connections are used in varying proportions during the casting stroke.

    Gordy/Walter,

I appreciate Walter's weightlifting analogy. Any creedence to the analysis of white muscle fiber vs. red muscle fibers? Or I guess fast twitch vs. slow twitch muscles with regard to a smooth casting stroke?

Now there is probably some meaning less minutiae.

Walter triggered the thought of a frustrated pro wrestler in a "roid rage" trying to cast a slow cane rod. It gave me an odd but funny visual.
