    Walter & Group...

[GH]  As some of you are aware, Walter Simbirski has been archiving our Group messages for some time.

He has offered to prepare a searchable index of topics for those interested in reviewing past material.  Since this will take a great deal of effort and time expenditure, we owe him a debt of gratitude for even considering it !

    This message from him  :

Do you have any thoughts on what you would like to see in the searchable index we talked about? I think we should keep the current on line database in its current form so that the raw data is available (maybe others will want to try their hand at doing their own version of a database) but also create something a bit more sophisticated as well. Do we keep the original email format or repackage it?

I'm sure that anyone studying for their masters will like to review the quizzes and see how others responded so I think that is one section we could have. Other areas would be discussions about the performance items of the test, the test in general, preparing for the test, experiences with the test. We could also have sections on the history of the sport and casting mechanics (horrors! ;-0 ), general fishing information, equipment, equipment handling and set up, teaching. These are high level categories - there would be subcategories and cross referencing as well.

Let me know what you think. If you prefer we could talk on the phone.

    Cheers
    Walter

    [GH] Walter,

Sounds as though you have covered the main bases.

Perhaps it would help if I posted a request to the Group.  Some of the folks who have been on it for years may come up with some recommendations we hadn't considered.

    Best,

    Gordy
