The "matching game" is not something I invented. Far from it. It has been used for many years for teaching, recall, and exams all the way from grade-school level through professional instruction.

Revisiting subjects through key words and brief concepts helps to solidify new information in our brains.

Just like with the kids we've been discussing, GAMES RULE !

Hi Gordy,

This is a great help to us who teach children. At the Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo in the Twin Cities in March, our FFF club conducted a Child/Parent Introduction to Fly Fishing Class. I handed out the attached tips for Parents at this event. It seemed to go over well. There is not much new here but it was our attempt to help Parents help their child learn to fish and to fly fish specifically. Thanks again for all of the great information. Dorothy Schramm taught me several years ago about the importance of quitting a fishing outing before they want to quit, that maintains the enthusiasm for fishing.

When teaching "grown up kids", we find that even adults respond well to teaching games and FUN.
