    Walter & Group...

[GH]  Let's go back for a moment to Task 5.   This from Ally Gowans :

    Hi Gordy,

Practical application of the normal overpowered curve cast almost always includes voluntary or involuntary “pull back” even if this is caused just by the exaggerated counter-flex that is induced. I recall that when I was tested I made the curve without any visible “pull back” and was asked if I could make the curve very pronounced and I then had to employ it. A Master should be able to do it both ways and explain the layouts produced.

To avoid any form of mending rod tip motion would have to stop exactly at the line launch point which is impossible so I think we may be splitting hairs and a test that asks for a variety of layouts depicted in sketch form and produced by over or underpowered casts might be worthy of consideration.

I forgot to mention after Gordy came up with his list of different curved casts that most of them can alternatively be made from Roll or Jump Roll casts instead of employing straight line casts.

    Best wishes,
    Ally Gowans
