[GH] From Mack Martin :
Gordy:
Thanks for sharing this. Hats off to Rick Brown. It would be nice to see everyone prepare that way.

[GH] Jim Gill responds :
Gordy, This advice can be translated to all assessments/exams - even across the pond here in the UK. The old adage of "Fail to Prepare is Prepare to Fail" is quite true. Congratulations to Rick.
Best wishes, Jim.

Shaun Ash comes in from "Down Under" (Highlights added) :-
There's that word again - prepare - and it is a very good experience.
re testing :
the CCI test is I believe a general test of casting skill
and what words are needed to teach.
The masters seem well documented re prac. exam then unknown for the
oral which is a little disconcerting as it seem like such a big step
in knowledge from CCI to MCCI.

[GH] Shaun....
You are correct.
A vast amount of fly casting and teaching knowledge is required for a Master. At that level, it is expected that this would take years of study to acquire along with solid teaching expertise and experience.
I know you know the Master's Study Guide including the sample questions on it . Dusty Sprague's advice, below, answers your thought and is good advice for candidates who have not yet obtained or studied this Guide.
They need to go over every single one of these questions and be able to answer them with ease. They have been chosen carefully to represent the topics which are usually covered even though they are not the exact questions to be expected during the actual exam.

[GH] From Dusty Sprague :
Shaun,
Take a look on the FFF website at the Masters Prep Study Guide and the representative questions toward the back of the Guide. These provide insight to the oral portion of the test. I think Gordy has covered many of these representative questions in the past during discussions with his study group.
