[GH] As I stated, yesterday, I'd like to postpone actual Group discussion of Server Sadik's detailed paper until after the Conclave.
As most of you know, both Ally Gowans and Grunde Lovoll are well grounded in the science of physics and both have spent years studying fly casting mechanics.
For that reason, prior to our general membership discussing these issues, I'll include in attachments the initial responses of each.
Take note of the willingness of each of these experts to engage in private dialogue with one another.
After the Conclave, perhaps we'll also have added input from Bruce Richards and Noel Perkins.
(I know Bruce will be very busy as BOG Chair between now and the Conclave. I don't want to add to his work load at the moment.)
All this may eventually result in a merger of top level informed opinions.
We who are "in the trenches" stand to learn a great deal.

Ally Gowans responds to Server's paper and to Craig Buckbee's message :
Hi Gordy,
Thanks for Server’s paper I hope to be able to read it thoroughly before you head off to conclave, I’m sure that it will be interesting and wish that I could be there to speak with him. On Craig Buckbee’s message “the line goes where the momentum of the cast sends it”, actually the lines goes where its own momentum (or even momentums!) sends it, the bend in the rod has got little to do with momentum but a lot to do with loading (stress and strain).
[GH] Re: Ally's attachment -
Some comments on Server’s paper (in red) not many because it’s very good – please forward this to him with my very best regards. Bring him to Scotland with you and we can sort all of this out over a whisky!
Best wishes,
Ally Gowans

[GH] Ally... Will do. Now THAT'S the best way to get all this high powered material on to consensus ....... Over a fine single malt !!
