Frank Harford sends us a message with a teaching "pearl" :
Gordy
I agree that when teaching the haul or correcting a problem ,one should try a variety of techniques to find one that works best Observing a students speech pattern may give a clue as to which approach to try first.
" I don't feel that I'm getting this exactly right" ---------- kinesthetic approach
"I can't see what I'm doing wrong"-------------visual
I'd like to know when to start the haul"-----------cognitive
These observations are used in medical hypnosis to choose the most effective metaphors to use in trance. I think it has some application here too.

[GH] Frank has hit upon an interesting facet of teaching, here.
The student is "telling us" the mode in which he wants to learn.
Another way of getting onto the student's "wavelength".
Lesson : LISTEN TO YOUR STUDENT.
