LEFT HANDED INSTRUCTORS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Rene Hesse :
Hello Grody,
To the question of the benefit of teaching being left handed;
I find it is easier to teach a series of change of direction casts by
'being the mirror image'
of the student;
Set the stage- Standing approx 40 ft away and facing the student
Use his river right- on the dangle...wind direction...
Expalin and demo
They explain as I demo
They
demo as I explain
Then
they do both.
Getting them to see the actions and pantomime in the same direction as if a
mirror seems to help.
Rene
BTW- Being left handed, Lefty has always been my favorite caster
growing up....(I always enjoyed when someone
called me
lefty)
I wonder if
many people notice he casts right handed and why. He told me the story
at the Shallow
Water show in Atl. several years back.
Rene ...
Good advice.
Perhaps Lefty will enlighten us with that
story .....................
